Marco Flores takes his terminally ill best friend, Andy Perez, for one last ride in the racing car Andy had built. They decide to do a test lap around the track to prepare for the upcoming race. On the way to the track, Andy confesses his intense fear of death, now that he is so close to the end. They reach the track, but after an exhilarating lap, the car spins out and crashes. Andy wakes up to a paramedic telling him that although he luckily survived, Marco did not get out alive. Andy is surprised to hear the paramedic tell him how healthy he is. The next day, a much healthier Andy keeps seeing Marco at the sites of old memories of good times. He is stupefied and disturbed by his family and friends’ reactions to Marco’s death. No one seems at all phased or upset. Finally, the image of Marco he keeps envisioning confronts him. He tells Andy that he should be happy because the accident was meant to be and convinces him that death is beautiful and not to be feared. As Andy learns to accept death at Marco’s funeral, he suddenly finds himself back in reality, back in the car, and back to being a terminally ill patient.

While stealing the goods, Gabe observes the man in the jumpsuit letting the air out of the tires of the getaway van. Gabe believes that this man is responsible for bringing misfortune to his life and demands to know who he is and why he is so intent on causing Gabe bad luck. The man in the jumpsuit swears that he is not the responsible party and reluctantly agrees to take Gabe to the person who is.
