Mr. Motivation

Directed by: Deran Serafian

Starring: Wallace Langham, Chris McDonald

Charlie Stickney is trapped in a dead-end job as an assistant to Rick Bollinger, an Executive Vice President whom he despises. In fact, everyone in the office hates Rick, who is disrespectful to everyone and takes pleasure in humiliating his assistant. On Charlie’s birthday, Rick presents him with a gift in an effort to further ridicule him. Charlie pretends to be happy with his new "Mr. Motivation" doll, a little bald man chomping on a cigar that barks motivational phrases when someone pats its head. Charlie puts the doll off to the side, trying to concentrate on his work. To his surprise, Charlie hears the doll say, "You deserve better, Chuck!" but thinks nothing of it. As Rick continues to berate Charlie, Mr. Motivation urges him to stand up to his overbearing boss. Charlie removes the doll’s batteries to silence it. Later that day, Rick asks Charlie to rearrange numbers on important financial reports to cover-up Rick’s dishonest practices. Charlie confronts Rick about the moral and legal consequences of his actions, but Rick disregards Charlie’s concerns and accuses him of trying to destroy the company if he does not cooperate. When Charlie returns to his desk, Mr. Motivation is there to encourage him to stand up to Rick and do what’s right. Mr. Motivation warns Charlie that if he doesn’t "take down that bozo…I will." Believing that he has finally lost his mind, Charlie takes the doll and throws him into a dumpster. Mr. Motivation, however, ends up being very persistent, and Charlie finds himself with a new partner.

Sanctuary

Directed by: Patrick Norris

Starring: Elizabeth Berkley, Rob Estes

Scott Turner, a stressed out sports agent on the verge of losing a major client, steps into the woods off the side of the highway to relieve himself when his tire goes flat. To his surprise, he is unable to find his way out of the woods and after an hour of searching, stumbles upon a beautiful mansion atop a hill. Deciding to ask for help, he finds the house completely empty, and finds one woman in the same predicament as him. Marisa Sanborn is a real estate agent who is juggling a million things at once when she walked out of the car in the middle of a fight with her fiancé and finds herself in the same beautiful mansion. Marisa points out to Scott all the oddities of the house: there are no telephones, no light switches, not even any sockets. She also explains that the landscape they see around them should not actually be there. Without any other option, Scott and Marisa resign themselves to the empty house, perfectly built for the two of them, and start to enjoy themselves. The house and surroundings is like a paradise. One day, another woman named Rikki finds her way to the mansion as a result of a motorcycle accident. Marisa finds this very strange, because she seems to realize that the house is made for two people. Even more peculiar is the fact that Rikki’s phone works. Marisa warns Scott not to use her phone, because she thinks it will ruin the paradise they have found. Unwilling to turn Ricki away, the couple’s sanctuary begins to go awry. A wasp stings Marisa, and a giant snake turns up in their living room. As strange events continue to happen, Scott becomes very tempted to use Rikki’s phone. However, he does not anticipate the devastating results when he eventually gives in to temptation.
